About Dr. John E. McKellar

John came to White’s Chapel in 1992. During his tenure White’s Chapel has grown from 490 members to approximately 9,500 members. As Senior Pastor, John casts the vision for the church and sets the overall direction for church programs. He provides leadership for and actively participates in worship, education, discipleship and evangelism for the spiritual life and growth of members. Additionally, John represents White’s Chapel in denominational and community affairs.

A native of north Louisiana, John moved to Texas in 1986 to begin seminary. He completed his Masters of Divinity at Perkins School of Theology at SMU in 1990 and his Doctor of Ministry degree in Applied Ministries at The Graduate Theological Foundation (South Bend, IN) in 2004. Prior to his appointment at White’s Chapel, John served churches in Grandview, TX, Fort Worth, TX, and Haslet, TX. John is an ordained Elder in Full Connection with the Central Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church.

John and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 30 years. They have two children: Jay and Chandler. In his spare time, John enjoys reading, studying the American presidency, college football and the Dallas Cowboys, and perpetually being the worst golfer in the world.
