Betsy Godbold was appointed to White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in 1997. She presently serves as the Executive Pastor for Care & Spiritual Formation. In this capacity, her many responsibilities include grief counseling, pastoral counseling, the Stephen Ministry group, pro-active care and hospital visitation as well as Spiritual Formation and Direction.

 

Betsy received a Bachelor of Science from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School with a concentration in Pastoral Theology and Counseling. She was ordained an Elder in 2000. Betsy recently received a Certificate of Completion in the Art of Spiritual Direction at the Center for Spiritual Development in Orange, Calif. and is a certified Mediator. She will complete a three year training program with a certificate in Spiritual Direction in May of 2010.

 

Immediately prior to coming to WCUMC, Betsy was a Chaplin at Parkland Hospital. Prior to Parkland, she was involved in social work for The Bridge Emergency Youth Shelter in Fort Worth where she worked with teens (10-17 years of age) in transition.

 

Betsy spends much of her leisure time with her two children and six grandchildren. She also enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, reading and the symphony.
